Provera ingredients

Provera contains Medroxyprogesterone acetate, a derivative of progesterone.

Provera 5 mg uses

  • Treatment of endometriosis.

  • Treatment of amenorrhea.

  • Treatment of abnormal uterine bleeding.

  • Help in the treatment of certain cancers, including endometrial cancer, breast cancer, and kidney cancer.

  • It is used alongside estrogen to relieve menopausal symptoms in the presence of the uterus (not undergone hysterectomy).

Provera dosage

  • The appropriate dose is determined by the doctor.

  • Dosage varies depending on the patient's condition.

  • Provera is administered at the same time every day.

  • Endometriosis dose: 10 mg 3 times per day for 90 days, starting on the first day of the menstrual cycle.

  • Amenorrhea dose: 2.5 - 10 mg per day for 10 days.

  • Abnormal uterine bleeding treatment dose: 2.5 - 10 mg per day for 5 - 10 days, usually treatment cycle is repeated.

  • High blood pressure.

  • Pregnancy or planning for it.

Provera precautions
