Sprycel 50 mg 60 Tablets is a medication used to treat leukaemia (blood cancer) in adults and children, especially in patients who have shown resistance or intolerance to previous treatments.
Sprycel contains the active ingredient dasatinib, which works by inhibiting specific proteins inside leukaemia cells that are responsible for their excessive growth. This helps kill the leukaemia cells in the bone marrow and allows the production of normal blood cells.
For adults:
Newly diagnosed Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukaemia (Ph+ CML) in chronic phase.
Chronic, accelerated, or blast-phase CML resistant or intolerant to prior therapy, including imatinib.
Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (Ph+ ALL) or lymphoid blast-phase CML resistant or intolerant to prior therapy.
For children:
Ph+ CML in chronic phase, either newly diagnosed or resistant/intolerant to previous therapy, including imatinib.
Newly diagnosed Ph+ ALL, administered in combination with chemotherapy.
Adults: The usual starting dose is 100 mg once daily.
The doctor may adjust the dose based on the patient’s condition.
