Aquipta 60 mg tablets to prevent migraine attacks in adults who experience migraines at least four days per month.
Each Aquipta tablet contains 60 mg of atogepant, which helps reduce migraine attacks by blocking the activity of calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) associated with migraines.
Aquipta is used for the prevention of migraine attacks.
The usual dose: One 60 mg tablet daily.
The medication can be taken with or without food.
Consult your doctor before discontinuing the medication, as stopping it suddenly may lead to the return of symptoms.
The doctor may adjust the dosage in cases of kidney disorders.
Atogepant (Aquipta®) may cause some side effects, including:
Constipation.
Drowsiness.
Loss of appetite.
Weight loss.
Nausea.
Aquipta can cause loss of weight. It’s one of its side effects but it is used mainly for migraine not for weight loss.
It’s not common for Aquipta to cause weight gain, as it may reduce the appetite.
Aquipta should not be used in the following cases:
Hypersensitivity to its components.
Children and adolescents under 18 years old.

Kidney disease.
Liver disease.
Pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Birth control pills.
Antifungal medications (e.g., ketoconazole).
Ritonavir.
Rifampicin.
Keep out of reach of children.
Store in a cool, dry place.
Do not use the medication after its expiration date.
