GalvusMet drug contains:

50 mg vildagliptin: Dipeptidyl peptidase 4 "DPP-4" inhibitor, the enzyme that breaks down incretins, hormones released by the body after meal and stimulates pancreas to release insulin. By increasing their blood levels through the drug, the pancreas is furtherly stimulated to secrete more insulin.

850 mg of metformin: reduces blood sugar levels by reducing the production of glucose by the liver, increasing muscle sensitivity to insulin, and delaying intestinal glucose absorption.
What is Galvus met 50mg used for?
GalvusMet is prescribed an adjunctive treatment along with exercise and diet to improve blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes, and may be used:

In patients who cannot control blood sugar levels by metformin only.

Patients who receive vildagliptin and metformin each in a different tablet.

With other drugs used in the treatment of diabetes, including insulin.
Galvus met 50/850 dose

Usual dosage: 2 tablets per day, one in the morning, one in the evening.

It is not recommended to take more than 2 tablets of Galvus Met per day.

You should stop taking Galvus Met prior to surgery requiring anesthesia, and resume taking it at least 48 hours after the operation or with the resumption of oral nutrition.
