It is used in patients with non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (type II) who have not been able to control their sugar through diet.
It can be used alone or in combination with a sulfonylurea, insulin or metformin.
What are the contraindications to the use of Glucobay?
Do not use in cases of: diabetic ketoacidosis, cirrhosis of the liver, inflammatory bowel disease; ulceration of the colon, intestinal disorders of digestion or absorption; Complete or partial intestinal obstruction, and conditions that worsen this condition such as increased gas production in the intestine. Hypersensitivity to this medication.
What are the side effects of Glucobay?
mild stomach pain, flatulence, flatulence; Diarrhea, mild rash or itching.
