Medicinal uses of Betaderm cream

It is used to treat certain skin problems, such as eczema (a common skin disorder that causes red, itchy skin) and some types of skin inflammation (dermatitis).

This medication is a topical product used on the surface of the skin to reduce redness and itching caused by certain skin problems.

How to use Betaderm Ointment

Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.

Consult your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Dosages may change from patient to patient based on your age, medical condition, and whether or not you are taking other medications.

Apply a thin layer of the cream/ointment and gently massage it into the affected area as directed by your doctor.

This medicine is not recommended for use in children unless directed to do so by your doctor

Wash and dry your hands before and after using the cream/ointment (do not wash your hands after using it if it is being used to treat the skin of your hands).

Make sure to keep the cream/ointment out of your eyes.

Do not use this cream/ointment on your face unless directed by your doctor.

Do not use this cream/ointment on the genital areas unless directed by your doctor.

Keep using your medicine for as long as your doctor tells you to.

Be sure to close the cap on the tube after using the cream/ointment to avoid leakage or contamination of the medicine.

Dosages may be changed under special circumstances, so always follow your doctor or pharmacist's instructions.

If you take more than you should, talk to your doctor or go to the hospital right away.

Tips to relieve skin sensitivity

Symptoms of skin allergies vary according to the type and severity of the allergy, but they usually contain redness and itching of the skin

If you have sensitive and itchy skin, try these tips to control your symptoms:

Avoid contact with any potential allergens such as certain foods, some topical products, some articles of clothing, and even jewelry. Make sure you know your allergens and check for them in any product before using it

Avoid drying out the skin by using moisturizing creams

Use an air conditioner and/or humidifier. When your skin is hot and/or dry, you may find that your skin itch will often get worse.

Consider using an ice pack or other gentle cooling agent (such as a cold washcloth) to relieve itching.

Ultraviolet rays may worsen your condition, so it is best to use a sunscreen such as La Roche-Posay, Anthelios, Sunscreen

Warnings and precautions while using Betaderm Cream

Stop taking the medication right away and talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any allergy or skin reaction to any of the ingredients in this cream/ointment such as skin itching, skin redness, shortness of breath, rash, or swelling of the face or neck.

This medicine is intended for external topical use only. Do not swallow this product.

Avoid contact of the cream/ointment with your lips, eyes, mouth, sensitive areas of the neck and corners of the nose to avoid irritation. In case of accidental contact, be sure to rinse the area thoroughly with warm water and then allow it to dry.

Talk to your doctor right away if you or your child has any vision problems (such as blurred vision).

Talk to your doctor before starting this medication if you are allergic to any other drugs, dyes, foods, or preservatives, or if you have any other health problems (especially if you have an infection).

Be sure to tell your health care providers that you are using this medication.

Talk to your doctor if your skin condition gets worse, becomes inflamed, or does not improve.

Do not share this medication with anyone else, even if they have the same signs.

Do not use this medicine for a long period of time over large areas to prevent its excessive absorption and subsequent unwanted side effects.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines, including over-the-counter medicines, prescription medicines, herbal supplements, vitamins, and nutritional supplements.

How to store Betaderm ointment

Store at a temperature below 25°C

Do not refrigerate the medicine.

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.

Store in the original package to protect from moisture.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton/strip/label. The expiration date refers to the last day of the month.
