Kindergen is a formula for Special Medical Purposes for use under medical supervision. For the dietary management of those infants and children suffering from chronic renal failure requiring peritoneal rapid overnight dialysis (PROD) or continuous cycling peritoneal dialysis (CCPD). It should be used under medical supervision. Kindergen is a nutritionally complete unflavoured powdered milk. It consists of whey protein (cow's milk), carbohydrate, fat, vitamins, minerals, and trace elements with modified phosphorus levels and electrolytes.

Powder milk kindergen preparation
For Bottle Feeding
Clean Hands and Area: Start by thoroughly washing your hands and sanitizing the preparation area. Make sure all bottles and teats are sterilized as well.
Boil and Cool Water: Boil fresh water for 5 minutes (or until your kettle auto-shutts off), then let it cool for at least 30 minutes until it feels lukewarm on your wrist. Measure the prescribed amount of cooled water into a sterilized bottle.
Measure Powder Carefully: Use only the provided scoop, filling it level with a clean, dry knife (don't press down). Add the exact number of scoops prescribed to the cooled water.
Mix and Check Temperature: Secure the bottle and shake well until the powder dissolves completely. Before feeding, make sure that the formula is at a comfortable temperature by testing a few drops on your wrist.
Use Fresh, Discard Leftovers: Use the prepared formula immediately and discard any remaining after an hour of feeding. Never reheat the formula once prepared.
For Tube or Sip Feeding
Clean Up First: Start by washing your hands well and using clean equipment to prepare the formula.
Boiled Water is Key: Use water that has been boiled and cooled (not warm to the touch), and pour it into a sterile container.
Measure Accurately: Use the provided scoop or a scale to measure the exact amount of Kindergen powder prescribed.
Mix Smoothly: Add a small amount of cooled water to the powder and stir with a fork until a smooth paste forms.
Gradually Add More: Slowly add the remaining water while continuously stirring until the correct dilution is reached.
Serve at Room Temperature: Ensure the final formula is at room temperature before feeding.
