Cosopt eye drop ingredients
Cosopt eye drop contains:
Dorzolamide, which belongs to carbonic anhydrate inhibitors.
Timolol, which belongs to beta blockers.
Cosopt uses
Cosopt eye drop is used to reduce high eye pressure and treat glaucoma.
Cosopt dosage
Used as per the doctor's instructions.
The dose is one drop in the morning and the other in the evening in the diseased eye.
If you use another drop of the eye, they should be separated by 10 minutes.
Container tip should not come into contact with the surface of the eye to prevent infection.
How to use Cosopt?
Wash hands first.
Open the container with no contact with the container tip to the eye surface or skin.
Tilt the head back, and hold the container upside down.
Pull the lower eyelid down and pressing on the container to allow drops to fall into the eye.
Squeeze with your finger the corner between the eye and nose, or close the eye for two minutes, to prevent the medication from entering the rest of the body.
Repeat the same steps in the other eye if it is also diseased.
Cover the container and close it tightly.
Cosopt side effects
Cosopt eye drop may cause some side effects, such as:
Burning in the eye.
An unusual taste in the mouth.
Eye redness.
Eye itching.
Corneal abrasion.
Feeling something in the eye.
headache.
Sinusitis.
Blurred vision.
Fatigue and tire.
Cosopt contraindications
Cosopt eye drop is not used in case of:
Allergy to ingredients.
Suffering from or having breathing problems, such as asthma.
Slow heart rhythm or heart failure.
Arrhythmias.
Severe kidney disease.
Previously had kidney stones.
Hypercholremic acidosis.
Cosopt Precautions
A doctor should be consulted before using a drop of Cosopt in case:
Heart disease.
Breathing problems.
Poor blood circulation.
Diabetes, because a drop of Cosopt contains timolol, which may lower blood sugar levels.
Hyperthyroidism.
Muscle weakness or myasthenia dystrophy.
Children.
Pregnancy and lactation.
Take other medications.
Preservation and storage of the drug
Keep out of children's reach.
The drug is not used after expiry.
It doesn't require certain temperatures to store, but it should be kept away from the light.
Cosopt eye drop is not used 28 days after the container is opened.
