Mechanism of action: Fostimon is a gonadotropin that stimulates the growth and development of follicles in the ovaries. This can lead to ovulation and pregnancy in women who are not ovulating on their own.

Uses: Fostimon is used to treat infertility in women who are not ovulating due to:

Hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (low levels of FSH and LH)

Anovulation (lack of ovulation)

Ovarian failure

Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS)

Fostimon is also used to induce ovulation in women who are undergoing assisted reproductive technologies (ART), such as in vitro fertilization (IVF).

How to use: Fostimon is administered as a subcutaneous injection. The dosage and duration of treatment will vary depending on the individual patient's needs.

Fostimon should be injected under the skin of the abdomen or thigh. The injection site should be cleaned with an alcohol wipe before and after injection.

Fostimon should be stored in the refrigerator at 2-8°C (36-46°F).

Side effects: The most common side effects of Fostimon are:

Headache

Abdominal pain

Ovarian enlargement

Breast tenderness

Injection site reactions

Other, less common side effects include:

Multiple pregnancy

Ovarian hyperstimulation syndrome (OHSS)

Allergic reactions

Important safety information:

Fostimon should not be used in women who are pregnant, breastfeeding, or have a history of OHSS.

Fostimon should not be used in women with uncontrolled thyroid or adrenal disease.

Fostimon should not be used in women with ovarian or pituitary tumors.
