Mechanism of action: Atomoxetine is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI). It works by increasing the levels of norepinephrine in the brain, which can help to improve attention and focus.

 

Therapeutic indications:

 

ADHD in children 6 years of age and older, adolescents, and adults

EDS in adults with narcolepsy

Method of administration:

 

Strattera should be taken once daily, with or without food, at the same time each day.

The starting dose for children and adolescents is 0.5 mg/kg/day. The dose can be increased gradually to a maximum of 1.8 mg/kg/day.

The starting dose for adults is 40 mg/day. The dose can be increased gradually to a maximum of 100 mg/day.
