Pentasa tablets contain the active substance mesalazine that helps to relieve colon infections. This substance works locally to relieve inflammation and pain, as it is released into the body gradually and slowly.

Pentasa tablet uses

Pentasa tablets are used to treat mild or moderate gut inflammation, such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis.

Pantasa tablets are also used to prevent inflammation and flare of inflammatory bowel diseases.

Pentasa dosage

  • The appropriate dose of Pentasa tablets should be determined according to the doctor's instructions.

  • Adult dosage: 8 pentasa 500 mg tablets per day, once or divided by two or three doses, and to prevent future episodes of ulcerative colitis or Crohn's disease, the daily dose may be 2,000 mg (4 tablets).

  • Dosage of children 6 years or older: varies according to the child's weight.
