Pantozol contains the active substance "Pantoprazole", a proton pump inhibitor, which helps treat oesophageal reflux and heartburn by reducing acid secretion.

Pantozol uses

Pantozol is used to treat:

  • Esophageal reflux symptoms, such as heartburn.

  • erosive oesophagitis caused by oesophageal reflux.

  • Zollinger-Ellison syndrome.

Pantozol 20 mg dosage

  • The recommended dose is one tablet per day.

  • Some patients may need to take the tablets for 2 - 3 consecutive days to improve symptoms.

  • The medication can be stopped once the symptoms are completely free.

  • Pantozol treatment should not exceed 4 weeks without consulting a doctor.

When is Pantozol taken?

  • Liver disease or jaundice.

Patients who suffer from indigestion or heartburn that is recurrent in the long term should consult a doctor at regular intervals.

 

You should also not take another acid reflux medication of the same class (proton pump inhibitors) or of the category of H2 blockers.

Pantozol and pregnancy

There are not enough studies on the safety of using the drug during pregnancy, so you should consult a doctor before taking Pantozol during pregnancy.
