Zoron 8 Mg Tablets are oral tablets containing 8 mg of the active ingredient Ondansetron, which belongs to the class of 5-HT3 serotonin receptor antagonists. It is used to control nausea and vomiting caused by certain medical procedures.
Indications for Use
Zuron 8 mg is used for the prevention and treatment of nausea and vomiting associated with:

Chemotherapy (in adults and children).

Surgical procedures (in adults only).

How to Use Zuron Tablets

For prevention of nausea and vomiting due to chemotherapy or radiotherapy

Adults:

On the day of treatment: 8 mg one to two hours before the session, followed by another 8 mg dose after 12 hours.

On the following days: 8 mg twice daily, for up to 5 days.

Children over 6 months and adolescents:

The doctor will determine the dosage based on body weight or surface area.

A common dose is up to 4 mg twice daily, for up to 5 days.
For prevention of postoperative nausea and vomiting

Adults: 16 mg before surgery.

In moderate to severe liver impairment:

The total daily dose should not exceed 8 mg.
Important Notes:

Zuron usually starts to work within 1–2 hours of taking the tablet.

If you vomit within an hour of taking a dose, you may repeat the same dose.

Do not take an extra dose without consulting your doctor.

In case of overdose, seek medical attention immediately and take the medicine pack with you.
Administration Instructions:

Certain antibiotics: such as Erythromycin or Ketoconazole.

Antiarrhythmic medications: for heart rhythm disorders.

Beta-blockers: used for heart or eye conditions, anxiety, or migraine prevention.

Tramadol: a strong pain reliever.

Heart-affecting drugs: like Haloperidol or Methadone.

Cancer medications: especially Anthracyclines and Trastuzumab.

Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors (SSRIs): such as Fluoxetine, Paroxetine, Sertraline, Fluvoxamine, Citalopram, and Escitalopram (used for depression and anxiety).

Serotonin-Norepinephrine Reuptake Inhibitors (SNRIs): such as Venlafaxine and Duloxetine.
