Winex Oral Suspension 100 mg/5 mL is an antibiotic containing the active ingredient Cefixime, a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic. It is used to treat a variety of bacterial infections caused by bacteria that are susceptible to cefixime.

What is Winex syrup used for?

Winex is used to treat various bacterial infections, including:

  • Upper respiratory tract infections, including otitis media (middle ear infection).

  • Lower respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis.

  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs).

  • Certain bacterial infections of the throat, tonsils, and sinuses caused by susceptible organisms.

Winex syrup dose

  • Use only as prescribed by your doctor.

  • Shake the bottle well before each dose.

  • It may be taken with or without food; however, taking it with food may help reduce stomach upset.

  • Complete the full prescribed course of treatment, even if symptoms improve before the medication is finished.
