Vimpat 10 Mg / 1 Ml Syrup is an antiepileptic, containing the active substance "lacosamide", which helps to relieve seizures.
Vimpat 10 mg is used to treat:
Partial epilepsy with or without secondary generalization, for children from 2 years of age and over, whether the drug is alone or along with other antiepileptics.
With other antiepileptics medications in the treatment of primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures, for those aged 4 or over.
Idiopathic generalized epilepsy.
The doctor estimates the appropriate dose of Vimpat depending on the patient's condition.
The usual dose is to take a drug fembat twice a day, separated by 12 hours.
The drug should be taken at the same time every day.
The drug can be taken with or without food.
The dose of adults and children weighing 50 kg or more: it starts from 50 mg (5 ml or 1 teaspoon) twice a day, and the doctor can increase the dose to 100 - 300 mg (10 - 30 ml) twice a day.
The dosage of children weighing less than 5 kg: starting from 1 mg (0.1 ml) per kilogram of the child's weight twice daily, and the doctor can increase the dosage.
