Solian 100 mg 30 Tablets is a medication used to treat schizophrenia, including both acute and chronic schizophrenic disorders. It is effective against all symptoms due to its potent antipsychotic ingredient.
Solian contains the active substance amisulpride, an antipsychotic agent. It works by targeting dopamine receptors in the limbic system of the brain, enhancing its antipsychotic activity.
Solian is used in the treatment of:
Schizophrenia, especially acute or chronic schizophrenic disorders, which may present with positive symptoms (delusions, hallucinations, thought disorders) and/or negative symptoms (blunted emotions, emotional and social withdrawal), even when negative symptoms are predominant.
The usual daily dose is 400 mg or less.
For predominantly negative episodes: 50–300 mg daily, depending on the condition. The optimal dose is typically 100 mg daily.
For mixed positive and negative episodes: 400–800 mg daily, adjusted based on the patient's response to achieve the most effective dose.
You must take the medication regularly as directed by your doctor to see results. It may take a few weeks to achieve the full therapeutic effect. Continue taking the medication even if symptoms improve, unless your doctor advises otherwise.
Solian may cause some side effects, such as:
Increased prolactin levels in the blood (temporary and reversible after stopping treatment), which may cause gynecomastia in men or amenorrhea in women.
Insomnia
Anxiety
Tremors, muscle stiffness, excessive salivation, abnormal involuntary movements (extrapyramidal symptoms)
Dystonia (sustained muscle contractions in parts of the body)
