Ingredients of Omeprex Plus Capsules

Each Omeprex Plus capsule contains:

  • 40 mg Omeprazole: A Proton Pump Inhibitor (PPI) that reduces gastric acid secretion, thereby alleviating GERD symptoms.

  • 1100 mg Sodium Bicarbonate: Protects Omeprazole from degradation by stomach acid by increasing the gastric pH level.

Omeprex Plus 40 mg Uses

  • Short-term treatment of active benign gastric ulcers.

  • Short-term treatment of duodenal ulcers.

  • Treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD).

  • Maintenance of healing for erosive esophagitis.

How to use Omeprex 40 MG (Dosage)?

  • Omeprex Plus should be taken on an empty stomach at least one hour before meals.

Common side effects include:

  • Constipation.

  • Diarrhea.

Contraindications

  • Hypersensitivity to any of its components.

Warnings and Precautions

  • The dosage and duration of treatment recommended by the physician must be strictly followed.

  • Long-term treatment with any acid-suppressing medication (exceeding 3 years) may lead to Vitamin B12 malabsorption.

  • Prolonged use (one year or more) may increase the risk of bone fractures or magnesium deficiency (hypomagnesemia).

  • Long-term use of Bicarbonate (present in Omeprex Plus) alongside calcium or milk may result in Milk-Alkali Syndrome.

  • Caution is advised for patients on a sodium-restricted diet.

Drug Interactions
