Mirvaso Gel 3 Mg/Gm 30Gm is a topical medication that contains the active ingredient Brimonidine tartrate at a concentration of 0.33%. It is available by prescription and is used to treat facial redness caused by rosacea in adults aged 18 years and older.
Mirvaso Gel is used to reduce persistent (non-transient) facial redness associated with rosacea in adults aged 18 and over.
It provides a rapid and noticeable effect in most patients, helping relieve redness even if it has been ongoing for weeks, months, or years.
It is the first topical treatment approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) specifically for this type of rosacea-related redness.
Before the first use, press the pump several times until the gel appears on your fingertip.
Apply a small amount (about the size of a pea) to your fingertip.
Use the gel once daily, applying a pea-sized amount to each of the five areas of the face: the forehead, nose, chin, and both cheeks – totaling five small applications per day.
Gently and evenly spread the gel in a thin layer on the face, avoiding contact with the eyes and lips.
Do not apply to irritated skin or open wounds.
Wash your hands thoroughly after use.
To close the container, push the cap down and turn it clockwise until it stops. The pump is child-resistant when closed this way.
Common side effects may include:
Skin redness.
A sensation of warmth or flushing.
Burning feeling on the skin.
Skin reactions (contact dermatitis).
These effects may occur on areas affected by rosacea or even in areas previously unaffected such as the neck or chest. Skin lightening or excessive paleness may also appear at or around the application site.
