Each tablet contains the active substance methotrexate, which suppresses the immune system and helps treat certain autoimmune diseases.
Methotrexate 2.5 mg tablets are used for:
Treatment of active rheumatoid arthritis in adults.
Severe, resistant psoriasis that does not adequately respond to other forms of treatment, such as phototherapy and retinoids.
Severe psoriatic arthritis in adults.
Weekly dosage: 7.5 – 15 mg once a week.
Do not exceed the dose prescribed by the doctor.
Take the tablets with a glass of water while standing or sitting upright.
Methotrexate tablets may cause some side effects, such as:
Sore throat or mouth.
Indigestion.
Nausea.
Loss of appetite.
Stomach pain.
Increased liver enzyme levels.
Diarrhea.
Fatigue.
Headache.
Hair loss.
Mouth ulcers.
