Marvelon 21 Tablets is a combined oral contraceptive pill containing both estrogen and progestin. It works by preventing sperm from reaching the egg and by stopping the ovary from releasing an egg.

  • Ethinylestradiol (Estrogen)

Marvelon tablets are used to prevent pregnancy.

Marvelon 21 Pills How to Use

  • Take one Marvelon tablet at the same time every day.

  • Start taking the tablets on the first day of your menstrual cycle, one tablet daily.

  • Continue taking the tablets for 21 days, then stop for 7 days (during which lighter bleeding than a normal period may occur) before starting a new strip.

Marvelon Pills Side Effects

Marvelon may cause some side effects, including:

  • Abdominal pain

  • Menstrual changes during and after treatment

  • Breast tenderness

  • Appetite changes

  • Weight gain or loss

  • Headache

Contraindications for Marvelon

Do not use Marvelon in cases of:

  • Hypersensitivity to its ingredients

  • History of blood clots

  • Severe liver disease

  • Liver tumors

  • Hormone-sensitive reproductive organ cancers

  • Vision problems, such as partial or total loss of vision or visual field defects

  • Migraine with aura

  • Pregnancy

  • History of pancreatitis associated with very high triglycerides

  • Risk factors for blood clots, such as severe hypertension or blood clotting disorders

  • Heart valve problems with complications

  • Smokers over 35 years old

Drug Interactions

Some medications may affect the effectiveness of Marvelon, so consult your doctor before taking Marvelon with any other medicine, especially:

  • Tuberculosis medications

  • Epilepsy medications

  • Certain antibiotics

  • Antifungal medications

  • Cholesterol medications

Storage

  • Keep out of the reach of children

  • Store at a temperature between 15–30°C

  • Do not use after the expiration date
