Licab 300 Mg Strip Of 10 Tablets are used to treat bipolar disorder, specifically to manage manic episodes associated with the condition.
Each Licarb tablet contains 300 mg of lithium carbonate as the active ingredient.
Licarb is used in the treatment of manic episodes of bipolar disorder, which may present with symptoms such as: Motor hyperactivity, increased speed of speech, reduced need for sleep, flight of ideas or racing thoughts, excessive elation, aggressiveness, among others.
Initial dose: 600 – 900 mg daily, divided into two doses.
From the second day onwards: 1200 – 1800 mg daily, divided into several doses.
600 – 1200 mg daily, with a recommended dose of 900 mg once daily before bedtime.
Licarb 300 mg may cause some side effects, such as:
Fine hand tremor.
Increased urination.
Mild thirst.
Diarrhea.
Vomiting.
Dizziness.
Muscle weakness.
Licarb should not be used in cases of:
Hypersensitivity to its components.
Kidney disease.
Cardiovascular disease.
Dehydration.
Low sodium levels.
Patients on diuretics.
