Licarb is used in the treatment of manic episodes of bipolar disorder, which may present with symptoms such as: Motor hyperactivity, increased speed of speech, reduced need for sleep, flight of ideas or racing thoughts, excessive elation, aggressiveness, among others.

Licarb 300 dosage

For acute manic episodes

• Initial dose: 600 – 900 mg daily, divided into two doses.

• From the second day onwards: 1200 – 1800 mg daily, divided into several doses.

For maintenance or long-term control:

• 600 – 1200 mg daily, with a recommended dose of 900 mg once daily before bedtime.
