The Lana copper IUD is used for contraception in women, and it stays effective for up to 10 years.
The Lana IUD should not be used in cases of:
Cancers of the reproductive organs
Unexplained vaginal bleeding
Pregnancy
History of ectopic pregnancy
Pelvic infections
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs)
Abortion with infection within the past three months
Uterine abnormalities
Copper allergy
It should also be used with caution in the following conditions:
Anemia
Heart valve disease
Bleeding disorders
Use of anti-inflammatory treatments
Wilson’s disease
The Lana 380 A IUD may cause some side effects, especially during the early period after insertion, such as:
Heavy or irregular menstrual bleeding
Menstrual cramps
Bleeding
Anemia
Back pain
Pain during intercourse
Vaginal inflammation
