Ingredients of Kapron Tablets
Each Kapron tablet contains 500 mg of "Tranexamic Acid," which is a competitive inhibitor of plasminogen activation. This means it interferes with the fibrinolytic process to stop bleeding.
Kapron 500 Uses
Kapron tablets are used in cases of hemorrhage or increased risk of bleeding due to increased fibrinolysis or fibrinogenolysis. Local fibrinolysis may increase in cases of:

Prostatectomy and bladder surgeries.

Menorrhagia (heavy periods).

Epistaxis (nosebleeds).

Conisation of the cervix.

Management of dental extractions in patients with blood clotting disorders.

Ulcerative colitis.

Hematuria (blood in the urine); however, it is not used for hematuria caused by diseases of the renal parenchyma.

Gastrointestinal bleeding.
It is also used in cases of Hereditary Angioneurotic Oedema (HAE).
Kapron 500 mg Dosage

The appropriate dosage of Kapron tablets is determined by the physician.
