Esidrex 25 Mg 20 Tab

Esidrex 25 mg is a medicine used to treat high blood pressure, as well as edema of the body’s extremities associated with heart failure, liver cirrhosis, or water and sodium retention in the body.

Esidrex Ingredients

Each tablet contains 25 mg of the active ingredient Hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic and antihypertensive agent that helps treat high blood pressure and edema.

Esidrex 25 mg uses

Esidrex tablets are used to treat:

• Edema caused by water and sodium retention.
• Edema associated with congestive heart failure, nephrotic syndrome, or liver cirrhosis.
• High blood pressure, either alone or in combination with other antihypertensive drugs.

Esidrex 25 mg Dosage

• The doctor determines the appropriate dose according to the patient’s condition.
• The usual dose for edema: 25–50 mg daily.
• The usual dose for hypertension: 12.5–25 mg daily.
• Pediatric dose: 2.5 mg per kg of body weight, divided into two daily doses.
• The maximum allowed daily dose: 100 mg.

Esidrex 25 mg side effects

Esidrex may cause some side effects, such as:

• Low sodium levels in the blood, especially with severe heart failure and high doses.
• Dizziness.
• Gastrointestinal disturbances.
• Dry mouth.
• Cramps.
• Muscle pain and spasms.
• Decreased urine output.

Contraindications

Esidrex 25 mg should not be used in cases of:

• Hypersensitivity to its ingredients.
• Anuria or severe renal impairment.
• Severe liver failure.
• Addison’s disease.
• Hypercalcemia.
• The last six months of pregnancy.
• Breastfeeding.
• History of skin cancer.
