What is Actolind Solution?

Actolind W Solution 500 ml is an antimicrobial and antiseptic solution designed for cleansing, irrigating, and moistening wounds. It is used alongside dressings, gauze, and wound fillers for acute, chronic, and infected wounds, as well as first- and second-degree burns. It works by reducing surface tension to effectively break down impurities, necrotic tissue, and biofilm layers while forming a thin protective barrier over the treated area.

What is the use of Actolind solution?

  • Helps cleanse and irrigate wounds, removing contaminants from the wound surface.

  • Assists in removing crusts, necrotic tissue, and biofilm layers.

  • Helps moisten the wound bed to maintain an optimal moist environment for wound healing.

  • Suitable for gentle, pain-free wound cleansing.

  • Softens dried and adherent dressings to facilitate easy removal and reduce the risk of secondary tissue damage.

  • Does not inhibit granulation or re-epithelialization.

  • Contains Polyhexanide and Poloxamer to provide a synergistic effect in cleansing and wound care.

  • Effective against a broad spectrum of microorganisms, including multi-drug resistant strains such as MRSA and VRE, as well as fungi like Candida albicans.

  • Displays high biocompatibility, is dermatologically tested, and well tolerated.

Directions for Use

  • Use the solution to cleanse and irrigate the wound surface prior to further treatment or dressing application.

  • Apply directly to the wound or use to irrigate and cleanse the affected area as directed by a physician or healthcare professional.

  • To remove adherent dressings: Thoroughly soak dressings with the solution and wait 5–10 minutes before gently removing them to minimize tissue injury.

  • For optimal cleansing of deep or heavily sloughy wounds: Keep the wound moistened for at least 10–15 minutes using a fully saturated compress. Application can be repeated without time limitations according to wound condition (do not dilute).

  • The solution may be warmed to body temperature before use for patient comfort.

  • Can be used in combination with dressings, gauze, fillers, and other modern wound care materials.

  • Follow healthcare provider instructions regarding application frequency and wound management.

Precautions and Warnings

  • For external use only and for intended wound care purposes.

  • Do not use on eyes, middle/inner ear, hyaline cartilage, or during sterile joint surgeries.

  • Avoid application to the central nervous system or meninges.

  • Do not use for peritoneal lavage.

  • If accidental contact occurs with sterile cartilage, wash immediately with Ringer's solution or physiological saline.

  • Do not use in individuals with known hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients.

  • Do not use concurrently with anionic surfactants, cleansing soaps, creams, oils, or enzymes. Ensure these substances are completely rinsed from the wound surface prior to applying the solution.

  • Suitable for long-term use; well tolerated by allergic patients and individuals with diabetes.

  • Best used under medical supervision for chronic, infected, or deep wounds, as well as severe burns.
