Microlut contains the active ingredient levonorgestrel, a progestin that helps prevent pregnancy by:

Microlut tablets are used for contraception in women.

How to Use Microlut Pills?

  • Take one tablet daily at the same time each day.

  • Microlut should be taken every day regardless of sexual activity.

  • Maintain a 24-hour interval between doses; an additional 3 hours is allowed, but a longer delay may reduce contraceptive effectiveness.

  • Follow the direction of the arrows on the blister pack until all tablets are taken.

  • Take the tablets for 28 consecutive days.

Microlut and the menstrual cycle

Microlut may cause menstrual irregularities, including heavier bleeding, lighter bleeding, or even absence of periods. These effects are more common during the first months of use.

Contraindications of Microlut

Microlut should not be used in cases of:

  • Hypersensitivity to its ingredients

  • History of blood clots

  • Smoking and age 35 or older, due to increased risk of blood clots, heart attack, or stroke

  • Severe diabetes with vascular complications

  • Severe liver disease

  • Hormone-dependent cancers of the reproductive organs

  • Unexplained vaginal bleeding

  • Children and adolescents under 18 years of age

Warnings and precautions

  • Abdominal pain with irregular periods

  • History of ectopic pregnancy
