Logynon 21 tablets for contraception, is taken once daily following the order of the blister strip, then a 7-day break without taking the medication. Logynon contains both estrogen and progesterone hormones, making it an effective contraceptive.
Logynon is a combined oral contraceptive pill that contains:
Ethinylestradiol (estrogen)
Levonorgestrel (progesterone)
These hormones prevent pregnancy together by:
Preventing the release of eggs from the ovary
Thickening the cervical mucus, which hinders sperm movement
Preventing the thickening of the uterine lining, making it unsuitable for the fertilized egg to grow
A reliable contraceptive method when used correctly
Does not interfere with sexual intercourse
Often makes periods more regular, lighter, and less painful
May help relieve premenstrual symptoms
The Logynon pack contains 21 tablets, each marked with a day of the week.
Take one Logynon tablet every day at the same time
Start with tablet number 1, then follow the arrows on the strip, taking one tablet each day until all 21 tablets are finished
After that, take a 7-day break with no tablets, then resume the next pack for another 21 days
Withdrawal bleeding may occur after taking the last tablet, and it may continue into the days when you are supposed to start the next pack.
It is normal for the menstrual period to be absent, delayed, or irregular after stopping Logynon. It may take around 3 months for the menstrual cycle to return to normal.
