This medicine is a contraceptive pill and is used to prevent pregnancy.

Do not use drospirenone/ethinylestradio:

if you have (or have ever had) a blood clot in a blood vessel in your leg (deep vein thrombosis, DVT), your lungs (pulmonary embolus, PE) or other organs;

if you know you have a disorder that affects blood clotting - eg, protein C deficiency, protein S deficiency, antithrombin III deficiency, factor V Leiden or antiphospholipid antibodies;

If you need surgery or if you are away from your feet for a long time

If you have had a heart attack or stroke.

if you have (or have ever had) angina pectoris (a condition that causes severe chest pain and may be the first sign of a heart attack) or transient ischemic attack (TIA - temporary stroke symptom);

If you have any of the following diseases that may increase your risk of developing a blood clot:

Severe diabetes with vascular damage

Severe high blood pressure

High blood fats (cholesterol or triglycerides)

A condition known as hyperhomocysteinemia

If you have (or have ever had) a type of migraine called “migraine with aura”.

If you have (or have ever had) liver disease and your liver function continues to be abnormal

If the kidneys are not working well (kidney failure)

If you have (or have ever had) a liver tumor

If you have (or have ever had) or suspect you have breast or genital cancer

If you have unexplained vaginal bleeding

If you are allergic to ethinyl estradiol, drospirenone, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine

Warnings and precautions:

Talk to your doctor before taking it, you should also tell your doctor:

If a close relative has or has had breast cancer

If you have liver or gallbladder disease

If you suffer from diabetes

If you suffer from depression

If you have Crohn's disease or ulcerative colitis (chronic inflammatory bowel disease).

If you suffer from hemolytic uremic syndrome

If you have sickle cell anemia (an inherited disease of red blood cells).

If you have high levels of fats in the blood (hypertriglyceridemia) or a positive family history of this condition

If you need surgery, or you've been away from your feet for a long time

If you have just given birth, you are at an increased risk of developing blood clots

If you have inflammation of the veins under the skin (superficial thrombophlebitis)

If you have varicose veins

If you suffer from epilepsy

If you suffer from systemic lupus erythematosus

if you have an illness that first appeared during pregnancy or earlier use of sex hormones (for example, hearing loss, a blood disease called porphyria, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), itching of the whole body (pruritus), skin rash Skin with blisters during pregnancy (herpes of pregnancy), a neurological disease that causes sudden movements of the body (Sydenham's chorea))

If you have ever had a change in skin color especially on the face or neck known as “pregnancy spots” (melasma). If so, avoid direct sunlight or UV rays.

If you have hereditary angioedema, products containing estrogen may cause or worsen your symptoms.

Possible side effects:

Stop using the product and seek immediate medical attention if you have a tight throat, swelling of the eyes, face, lips, or tongue, feel faint, or have trouble breathing. Stop using the product if you experience hives or itching of the face or body.

Other medicines and drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol:

It will interact with medicines that:

It can have an effect on blood levels of it

It could make it less effective at preventing pregnancy

It can cause unexpected bleeding

These include medicines used to treat

Epilepsy (eg primidone, phenytoin, barbiturate, carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine)

tuberculosis (such as rifampicin)

HIV and hepatitis C infection (called protease inhibitors and non-nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors, such as ritonavir, nevirapine, efavirenz

Fungal infections (griseofulvin, ketoconazole)

Arthritis and Arthritis (Etoricoxib)

High blood pressure in the blood vessels in the lungs (Bosentan)

St John's wort herbal remedy

This medicine may affect the effect of other medicines:

Medicines containing cyclosporine

the antiepileptic lamotrigine (this may increase the frequency of seizures)

theophylline (used to treat breathing problems)

tizanidine (used to treat muscle pain and/or muscle spasms).

How to use drospirenone / ethinyl estradiol:

Take it every day for 21 days.

It comes in strips of 21 tablets, each marked with a day of the week.

Take the pill at the same time every day.

Start by taking a tablet that says the correct day of the week.

Follow the direction of the arrows on the tape. Take one tablet each day, until you have finished 21 tablets.

Swallow each tablet whole with water if necessary. Do not chew the pill.

Then you have seven pill-free days.

After you have taken all 21 tablets in the box, you have seven days when you do not take tablets. Therefore, if you take the last pill from one pack on Friday, you will take the first pill from your next pack on Saturday of the following week.

Within a few days of taking the last pill from the pack, you should have menstrual-like withdrawal bleeding. This bleeding may not be over by the time you start your next pack of pills.

You do not need to use additional contraception during the seven pill-free days - as long as you have taken your pills correctly and started taking birth control pills.
