The scientific name of Larimedex is Anastrozole, a substance that prevents the conversion of androgens to estrogen and the conversion of testosterone to estradiol, which reduces the effect of previous hormones on tumors that depend on them to reproduce, thus helping to reduce the size of the tumor.

How does Arimidex work?

Anastrozole blocks the enzyme aromatase that is involved in the last stage of estrogen production. Anastrozole is a drug that is used to treat breast cancer in postmenopausal women only.

Certain types of breast cancer depend on estrogen to grow, so stopping estrogen production with anastrozole prevents the tumor from developing and growing.

What are the uses of Arimidex?

It is primarily used in the treatment of advanced breast cancer or estrogen-receptor-positive breast cancer in postmenopausal women.

Is Arimidex prescribed to treat infertility in women?

Does Arimidex treat male infertility?
