Megamox Syrup Components

Each 5 ml of Megamox syrup contains:

  • 125 mg Amoxicillin: An effective antibiotic that kills infection-causing bacteria.

  • 31.25 mg Clavulanic Acid: Inhibits bacterial enzymes that resist antibiotics, ensuring the antibiotic remains effective against them.

What is Megamox Syrup Used for?

Megamox pediatric antibiotic syrup is used to treat:

  • Bacterial sinusitis.

  • Acute otitis media (middle ear infection).

  • Acute flare-ups of chronic bronchitis.

  • Pneumonia.

  • Cystitis (bladder infection).

  • Pyelonephritis (kidney infection).

  • Skin and soft tissue infections, such as cellulitis and severe dental abscesses.

  • Bone and joint infections.

Megamox Dose for Child

  • For children weighing less than 40 kg: The dose ranges from 20/5 mg to 60/15 mg per kilogram of the child’s body weight per day, divided into three separate doses.

  • Doses must be spaced at least 4 hours apart.

  • How to use Megamox? It is recommended to take the medication at the start of or just before a meal to minimize gastrointestinal upset.

  • Do not use the medication for more than two weeks. If symptoms persist, consult a physician.

Side Effects of Megamox Syrup

  • Diarrhea.

  • Nausea.

  • Vomiting.

Contraindications

Megamox syrup should not be used in the following cases:

  • Hypersensitivity (allergy) to any of its components.
