Description

Imigran 20Mg Nasal Spray Acute Migraine Treatment treats acute migraine attacks, whether or not they are accompanied by warning symptoms (aura). It takes effect in 15 minutes only.

Imigran Nasal Spray Ingredients

Imigran nasal spray contains 20 mg of the active ingredient "Sumatriptan," which treats migraines. It is a selective serotonin (5-HT1d) receptor agonist that works by narrowing the blood vessels in the brain and inhibiting the activity of the trigeminal nerve.

Imigran Spray Uses

Imigran spray is used for the acute treatment of migraine attacks with or without aura. It is not used for the prevention of migraines.

Imigran Nasal Spray How to Use?

  • Imigran spray should be used as early as possible after the onset of a migraine headache.

  • Adults (over 18 years): 20 mg in a single nostril; 10 mg may be sufficient for some patients.

  • If the patient does not respond to the first dose: A second dose should not be taken during the same migraine attack. However, other medications such as paracetamol or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may be used.

  • If the patient responds to the first dose but symptoms return: A second dose may be taken within the next 24 hours, provided there is at least a 2-hour interval between the two doses.

  • Maximum Dose: Do not use more than two 20 mg sprays (40 mg total) within a 24-hour period.

When does Imigran spray take effect?

The effect begins within 15 minutes. It reaches its maximum plasma concentration within 1–1.5 hours and may take up to 2 hours to reach its maximum effect.
