Fenistil Oral Drops
Fenistil Oral Drops 20 ml is an antihistamine medication containing Dimetindene Maleate at a concentration of 1 mg/ml. It works by reducing the effects of histamine, helping to relieve allergy symptoms and itching. Every 1 ml is equivalent to 20 drops and contains 1 mg of the active ingredient.
What are Fenistil Drops used for?

Helps relieve itching and irritation caused by allergies.

Relieves symptoms of hives (urticaria) and allergic skin rashes.

Helps relieve symptoms of allergic rhinitis, such as a runny nose, sneezing, and itchy nose and eyes.

Can be used to relieve itching associated with certain skin conditions, such as eczema, as well as itching caused by insect bites and chickenpox.

Features an oral drop formula suitable for those who have difficulty swallowing tablets.
How to Use Fenistil Drops
The dosage should be determined based on age and body weight, and the recommended dose should not be exceeded:

Adults and adolescents over 12 years: 20–40 drops, 3 times daily.

Children aged 1 month to 12 years: The recommended daily dose is 2 drops per kg of body weight per day, divided into 3 doses.

Infants aged 1 month to under 1 year: Use only upon medical recommendation and under medical supervision.

Infants under 1 month: Do not use this medication for them, especially premature infants.
Note: 1 drop = 0.05 mg of Dimetindene Maleate, and 20 drops = 1 ml = 1 mg.
It is not recommended to use this medication for more than 14 days without consulting a doctor.
Precautions and Warnings

Do not use Fenistil if you are allergic to Dimetindene Maleate or any of the ingredients in this medication.

Do not use for infants under 1 month old.

Consult a doctor before use in cases of: narrow-angle glaucoma, difficulty urinating, epilepsy, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), stomach ulcers, gastric outlet obstruction, cardiovascular disease, severe high blood pressure, or asthma.

This medication may cause drowsiness; caution should be exercised when driving or operating machinery.

Use with caution in young children, as its sedative effect may be associated with sleep apnea episodes.

Consult a doctor before use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Inform your doctor or pharmacist of all medications you are taking before using this product.
Side Effects
Some side effects may occur, including:

Drowsiness, especially at the start of treatment.

Fatigue.

Dizziness.

Increased excitability or irritability, particularly in some children.

Other less common symptoms may also occur.
Important: If signs of a severe allergic reaction appear—such as swelling of the face, lips, or tongue, or difficulty breathing or swallowing—stop taking the medication and seek immediate medical attention.
Drug Interactions
The sedative effects of Fenistil may increase when used alongside medications or substances that cause drowsiness, such as:

Certain other antihistamines.

Sedatives and hypnotics.

Certain antidepressants.

Opioid painkillers.

Certain medications affecting the central nervous system.
Avoid using Fenistil with MAO inhibitors or within 14 days of stopping them, unless under medical direction. Tricyclic antidepressants and certain anticholinergic drugs may increase anticholinergic effects and risks such as urinary retention or worsening of glaucoma.
