Exitor Ingredients

Exitor contains 60 mg of the active ingredient Etoricoxib, which selectively inhibits the COX-2 enzyme. It belongs to the class of Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs (NSAIDs) and relieves joint and bone pain.

What is Exitor 60 mg used for?

Exitor is used for adults and adolescents aged 16 and older to treat:

  • Osteoarthritis.

  • Rheumatoid arthritis.

  • Ankylosing spondylitis.

  • Pain and inflammatory signs associated with acute gouty arthritis.

  • Short-term treatment of moderate pain associated with dental surgery.

Exitor Dosage

The doctor will use the lowest effective dose for the shortest possible duration.

  • Osteoarthritis: 30 mg once daily; the doctor may increase this to 60 mg once daily.

  • Rheumatoid arthritis: 90 mg once daily.

  • Ankylosing spondylitis: 90 mg once daily.

  • Acute gouty arthritis: 120 mg once daily, for a maximum of 8 days.

  • Post-dental surgery pain relief: 90 mg once daily, for a maximum of 3 days.

Exitor 60 mg Side Effects

  • Fluid retention.

  • Headache and dizziness.

  • Irregular heartbeat (arrhythmia).

  • High blood pressure (hypertension).

  • Abdominal pain, constipation, or diarrhea.

  • Nausea and vomiting.

Contraindications

Exitor should not be used in cases of:

  • Hypersensitivity to its components.

  • Active stomach ulcers or active gastrointestinal bleeding.

  • Patients who experience bronchospasm, acute rhinitis, nasal polyps, angioedema, urticaria, or any allergic reaction after taking Aspirin or NSAIDs (including COX-2 inhibitors).

  • Severe hepatic impairment (liver failure) or renal failure.

  • Children and adolescents under 16 years of age.

  • Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD).

  • Congestive heart failure.

  • Persistent high blood pressure (above 140/90 mmHg) that is not controlled.

  • Myocardial infarction (heart attack), peripheral vascular disease, or cerebrovascular disease.

  • Pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Drug Interactions

Inform your doctor or pharmacist of any other medications you are taking, especially:

  • Blood thinners (Anticoagulants).

  • Aspirin.

  • Cyclosporine or Tacrolimus.

  • Methotrexate.

  • Diuretics.

  • High blood pressure medications.

  • Oral contraceptives (Birth control pills).

  • Digoxin.
