Dostinex 0.5Mg 8 Tab is a medication used to stop breast milk production in certain medical cases where breastfeeding is not allowed after childbirth. It also treats menstrual problems caused by elevated prolactin levels in the blood.
Each Dostinex tablet contains 0.5 mg of the active ingredient cabergoline, which stimulates dopamine receptors to inhibit the secretion of prolactin, the hormone responsible for milk production in the breast.
Dostinex is used to prevent the onset of lactation after childbirth for a clear medical reason, such as:
Situations where breastfeeding is contraindicated due to maternal or infant-related reasons
After miscarriage or stillbirth
The medication is also used to treat:
Disorders related to hyperprolactinemia, such as amenorrhea, anovulation, or excessive milk production
Prolactin-secreting tumors, such as certain pituitary tumors
Idiopathic hyperprolactinemia
To prevent lactation after childbirth: Take the medication on the first day after delivery at a dose of 1 mg (2 tablets of 0.5 mg) as a single dose.
For disorders caused by hyperprolactinemia: Start with a dose of 0.5 mg per week, then gradually increase the dose as directed by the doctor.

Dostinex should not be used in cases of:
Hypersensitivity to its ingredients
History of fibrotic disorders in the lungs, pleura, or retroperitoneum
