Cerazette 0.075 mg 28 tablets is an oral contraceptive for women; it contains a synthetic form of the hormone progesterone only.
Cerazette contains the active ingredient desogestrel 75 micrograms, a progestin that helps prevent pregnancy by inhibiting ovulation and increasing cervical mucus thickness, which hinders sperm movement.
Cerazette tablets are used for contraception in women.
Cerazette tablets should be taken in the order shown on the blister pack.
They must be taken at the same time each day.
Take one tablet daily for 28 consecutive days.
Start the next pack immediately after finishing the previous one.
If no hormonal contraceptive was used before, Cerazette should be started on the first day of the menstrual cycle; starting on days 2–5 is allowed, but during the first cycle, a barrier method (such as a condom) is recommended for the first seven days of tablet-taking.
Cerazette may cause some side effects, such as:
Decreased libido
Headache
Nausea
Acne
Breast pain
Irregular or absent menstrual periods
Weight gain
Cerazette tablets must not be used in cases of:
Hypersensitivity to its components
Pregnancy or suspicion of pregnancy
Active venous thromboembolic disorders
Current or past severe liver disease
Hormone-dependent cancers, such as cancers of reproductive organs

A doctor or pharmacist should be consulted before taking Cerazette with any other medication to ensure that its efficacy is not reduced and that it does not affect the efficacy of other drugs, especially:
Antiepileptic medications
