Sifrol 0.18Mg(0.25) 30Tab is a medication that contains the active ingredient Pramipexole. It is used to treat Parkinson’s disease and Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS). It belongs to a class of drugs known as dopamine agonists, as it works by stimulating dopamine receptors in the brain to improve motor control.

  • Parkinson’s Disease:

    • Helps relieve symptoms such as tremors, slowed movements, and muscle stiffness.

    • Can be used alone or in combination with Levodopa at all stages of the disease.

  • Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS):

    • Treats moderate to severe symptoms when no clear underlying cause is identified, such as the persistent urge to move the legs.

How to Use Sifrol 30 Tablets

For Parkinson’s Disease

  • The dosage is determined by the doctor.

  • Initial dose: Usually 0.088 mg three times daily (for immediate-release tablets) or 0.26 mg once daily (for extended-release tablets).

  • Dose may be gradually increased every 5–7 days.

  • Maximum daily dose: 3.3 mg.

For Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS)

  • The dosage is determined by the doctor.

  • Immediate-release tablets are taken once daily, 2 to 3 hours before bedtime.

  • Starting dose: 0.088 mg, which may be increased gradually every 4–7 days up to a maximum of 0.54 mg.

Administration Instructions

  • Tablets should be swallowed with water.

  • Extended-release tablets should not be chewed or crushed.

  • Should be taken at approximately the same time each day.

  • If the medication is stopped for a few days, treatment should be restarted at the lowest dose under medical supervision.

Common side effects:

  • In Parkinson’s: dyskinesia (involuntary movements), dizziness, drowsiness, nausea.

  • In RLS: nausea.


Other possible side effects include:

  • Hallucinations (seeing or hearing things that aren’t there).

  • Sudden sleep attacks.

  • Behavioral changes, such as compulsive overeating.

  • Visual impairment.

  • Low blood pressure when standing (orthostatic hypotension).

Precautions and Warnings

  • Use with caution in cases of:

    • Kidney disease.

    • Cardiovascular conditions.

    • Psychiatric disorders (e.g., psychosis or compulsive behaviors).

  • Additional precautions:

    • Regular monitoring of blood pressure and eye health is advised.

    • Not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age.

    • May impair the ability to drive or operate machinery due to possible drowsiness or hallucinations.

    • Consult your doctor before using this medication during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Drug Interactions

Inform your doctor of all medications you are using. Use caution with:

  • Antipsychotic medications.

  • Cimetidine, Amantadine, Mexiletine, Zidovudine, Cisplatin, Quinine, and Procainamide.
