Oxygen Cylinder Indications

Medical oxygen cylinder 5L is used in the following cases:

• Anesthesia during surgery and post-operative recovery.

• Treating or preventing oxygen deficiency, such as during a heart attack, severe bleeding, heart or lung diseases, or high fever.

• Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) after consulting a doctor, such as in cases of bronchitis or emphysema.

Oxygen Cylinder Side Effects

• Chest soreness with coughing and difficulty breathing, especially after prolonged inhalation of pure oxygen (6–12 hours).

• Dizziness, seizures, or loss of consciousness after 2–3 hours of oxygen exposure.

• Eye damage in newborns exposed to oxygen concentrations above 40%.

Oxygen Cylinder Precautions

• Do not store or use oxygen cylinders near flames or ignition sources.

• Ensure cylinders are stored in a secure location to prevent them from falling or causing injury.

• Separate empty cylinders from full ones.

• Store oxygen cylinders in a well-ventilated, clean, and dry area.

• Smoking is strictly prohibited near oxygen cylinders.

• Ensure labels are clearly visible and not removed or covered.

• Do not use oil or oil-based products, such as creams or makeup, near the oxygen cylinder.

• Do not place the oxygen cylinder on your bed.

• When cleaning the oxygen cylinder, avoid using products containing ammonia or chlorine.

• Consult a physician before using an oxygen cylinder if you are taking medications such as chemotherapy drugs, antiarrhythmics, or antibiotics.
