The dose can be increased gradually, as tolerated, to a maximum of 6 mg per day. The usual starting dose for children and adolescents with autistic disorder is 0.25 to 0.5 mg per day. The dose can be increased gradually, as tolerated, to a maximum of 6 mg per day.
