Sapofen syrup contains the active substance "ibuprofen" 100 mg/5 ml, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory substance, which helps to relieve inflammation and pain.

Sapofen junior syrup uses

Sapofen is used to relieve:

  • headache.

  • Rheumatic pains.

  • Muscle pain.

  • Back pain.

  • Migraines.

  • Period pain.

  • Tooth pain.

  • Nerve pain.

  • Relieve the symptoms of the common cold.

  • Fever.

Sapofen syrup dose

  • Adult dosage and those older than 12 years: 4 - 6 teaspoons 3 times daily.

  • You must not exceed more than 24 teaspoons (2400 mg/120 ml) per day.

  • Sapofen syrup dose for children from 8 - 12 years: 2 teaspoons 3 or 4 times daily.

  • Sapofen syrup dose for children from 3 - 7 years: 1 teaspoon (5 ml) 3 or 4 times daily.

  • Sapofen syrup dose for children from 1 - 2 years: 1⁄2 teaspoon (2.5 ml) 3 or 4 times per day.

  • The usual dose for children is generally 20 mg per kilogram of a child's weight.

  • Sapofen syrup is not used for children weighing less than 7 kg.

Sapofen syrup side effects

  • Nausea.

Sapofen Contraindications

Sapofen syrup is not used in case of:

  • Hypersensitivity to the ingredients of the drug or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAID).

  • Ulcers, bleeding or perforation of the stomach.

  • Take aspirin at a dose of 75 mg per day or more, or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory (NSAIDs).

  • Severe heart failure.

  • Severe kidney or liver failure.

  • Pregnancy, especially in the trimester.

Precautions
